Should I Lie to Hiring Manager About Skills?

I'm a 2nd year computer science student, who is trying to obtain a co-op position. One of the hiring managers for a software development company that is currently talking to me, asked me about my experience in developing with a certain programming language. As it currently stands, I'm legitimately in the middle of learning this said language.

Should I lie about how much experience I have with said programming language in order to secure the co-op job? Or should I be honest with him and tell him that my knowledge is very limited since I am still learning it, so I don't have any big projects to show him.

What do you guys think? Should I use the "say yes, learn it later" approach, or be honest? I don't want to over sell myself (not that he's looking for a software guru, since this is just merely a co-op job) and not have any projects to show him if he asks for them.
