How Generate sequence diagram from xmi file

I know we can generate an xmi file from a sequence diagram, but for inverse, I want to know if we can generate a sequence diagram from a xmi file with any tool(ie write my own code as xmi file which can be understood by a tool, then generate a sequence diagram from this xmi file)?

I have noticed that each tool has a specific syntax(xmi file), and if I implement my own xmi file, it must necessarily have a specific syntax for this tool to be able to display my sequence diagram.

there is a possibility of having understandable xml file with all the tools(ex:agroUML,Magicdraw .....)?
