Teamviewer monitor driver failed [on hold]

Teamviewer works perfectly well on the remote computer except that I want to black out the screen. Trying to install the monitor driver for that purpose brings up a message that the installation failed and asks if I want to use "the fallback alternative". Clicking yes to that merely results in another message that that installation failed.

Questions:

1. Any ideas why the monitor driver installation should be failing?


2. What is the "fallback alternative"?

Please help out.
