Perl is currently using Git as their VCS. Their revision history dates back to 1987 which is of course well before Git was released. It must have been imported from their previous VCS.
I'm primarily wondering what was used prior to this, and about when was the switch to Git. Any additional information on the subject such as their announcement of the change would be welcome, but not necessary.
