There is a necessity to maintain and schedule the ETL jobs as per the defined schedules. There are multiple environments in which these jobs needs to be configured and schedules of the jobs in each environment differs. Hence, this requirement to develop an application which would be useful to enter all the jobs in each environment along with scheduled durations. There would also be a page to display all the jobs in different views – by environment, by job, by duration. One could export the view onto Excel.
This application would be predominantly useful for the Release manager and also Team members to maintain and verify the schedules of the various jobs environment wise. This application will have three pages 1) A page to enter the individual job details – job name, description, duration scheduled, scheduled intervals (daily, weekly, at specific time of day, etc). 2) A page to maintain all the environments in the system. 3) A page to view the jobs in different views – by environment, by job, by duration.
The development of this application would result in easy maintenance of the jobs across different environments. It would also help to extend the jobs and environment portfolio on need basis. What exactly I need is- an application that gives the release manager as well as the team members the details of all the jobs in their respective environments like development,QA,UAT etc that too at particular scheduled time i.e. daily,hourly,weekly,monthly and on basis of frequency.Both will have the access rights to view,add,delete,update.The result should be generated on a new page or to their mails or any other file in their systems.
