How do we design a good website, not graphical?

I always created an application without proper design before creating it and having a very hard to manage code which I don't want to touch it again.

I understand to create a system we have these diagram to design our system: User Case, sequential diagram etc. These help us to understand how the system should be operated.

I have question of how to diagram a user interfaces of an webpage?
