Why is the Java Web Start CD-Install page no longer available?

The Java Web Start Guide used to include a page describing how to make a Web Start application installable from external media, but that page isn't in recent versions of the documentation. Does anyone know why?

I am a big fan of Java Web Start. But it's often not desirable for commercial applications, and even more often, government applications, to be installable via a page on the public World Wide Web.

This can be handled by having javaws use the -codebase option in combination with -install, which allows installation from any local directory.

What worries me is, the only documentation of this is from Java 1.5: http://ift.tt/1zuMXKA

That page is referenced from the 1.5 Java Web Start Guide's table of contents.

Looking at the same Java Web Start Guide table of contents for Java 6, we see that the reference to the CD Install page has been removed. Similarly, the Java 7 table of contents also lacks it.

In the Java 8 table of contents, not only is the link to the CD Install page absent, the "Command Line Interface" heading isn't even a link anymore!

Does anyone know why the CD Install page, which I've always found very useful, has been banished from the documentation since Java 6? I'd like to be able to cite something a little more current than a 1.5 document.
