How to handle different acceptable MediaType?

Is there a standard way (or a "good" way) of handling different acceptable MediaTypes when handling an HTTP request (rest)?

I mean, HttpContext is there for a reason. Is there an annotation/class that I can use in order to NOT implement an @ApplicationScoped strategy to handle similar header checking and JSON and XML (for example) response building?
