My background is in web design and some development, so I'm not sure if this is totally beyond my ability level, but I would like to give it a shot. I have a client in the wholesale business who is interested in creating a basic web app so that his distributors can display products (~100) with a simple shopping cart to customers. The customers can add products to a cart and print out the invoice and take it to the distributor- no purchases online.
My question is this: What would be the best way to set this up so that distributors can log into a basic CMS to change appearance, prices, tax, etc.. and would it be better to make it cloud based or have them host it on their sites?
