How to add items to telerik radtextbox

I am writing a simple restaurant menu using telerik ui elements. I basically have three textboxes that receive input and display it as a menu item in another textbook but any time I call the items.add( ) function, it says telerik doesn't contain that function. I want to use telerik so how do I get it done
