Custom code folding in Eclipse

For those who use Eclipse and are working primarily in Java, there is a custom folding plugin coffee script. It is old but still works. However, C/C++ users are left without code folding customization. Eclipse CDT user base does have those who want this feature but lack Java expertise and/or time.

What is the best way to fix this small problem? How can we organize to port this "custom-folding" feature available in Java to C/C++ Eclipse IDE plugin?

My first idea is dumping all the available java-related "coffee script" code (after contacting the author) and dumping CDT-related plugin code as well to some public repository and asking for input to move the code around. But I have little Java experience.

As a side question: does anybody need this feature at all?
