A while ago, I read about a metric for programming languages which tracked how difficult to understand they were to novices. The statistic I remember is that SQL was significantly easier to understand than C.
This is kind of analogous to the Flesh Kincaid metric for English words.
Does anyone know what the name of this metric is, and better yet where I can find its values for common programming languages? I'm having difficulty locating it via Google.
