I can't compile modula-2 in Ubuntu

I am trying to test the modula-2 compiler native xds (xds-x86-251-enduser-linux.tgz from here) in Ubuntu without success. I unpack the .tgz in /usr/local and add the path variable as the readme.txt says, but I have troubles when I compile. If I compile with xc=c only generates me a .o file and if I compile with xc=m give me a fucking fail.
