I am at a crossroad in terms of my career. I am not really old, just that little over the hill, as such I want to look for a next hop to a company where I have a future. I have been presented with two choices:
- A company which I have spent sometime working on programming challenges and problems with. I have really grown to like the guys and the energy levels and vibe while working with them is great. The company works on a so-so industry which an ex-staff have cautioned me might be facing their twilight soon. He also mentioned that while the team there is young and energetic the boss can be somewhat stiff and resistant to change (I am taking this with a huge pinch of salt)
- Another company which I am considering has great future where they have a lot of projects and multiple tie in with various staple industries which will ensure a great future. I have met with their staff and that is the thing that concerns me. They seem tired and somewhat jaded with a tinge of shiftiness. I was informed that they were the two senior developers in the team.
Which would be a better choice and why ?
