I'm doing a degree in "informatics"

Will my career be stunted because of my degree, when looking for a job? I have experience with programming, but it's my degree that's bugging me.

I also have a really shitty GPA (2.3) and was hoping if just getting a degree and going out into the job world would be a better idea, and then after some experience, getting a masters. also, it even sucks more that I'm Canadian in who wants to work in the US after I graduate, so I'm not so sure if employers will be willing to hire me.

Should I transfer out of this college, get into a cs degree program and maybe graduate in two years - I'm at the end of my junior year in my current college.

Or should I complete my degree in informatics and do an online masters for CS?
