How to compare captured image with database images in MatLab?

I am trying to develop a system by which we can convert sign language to audible sound file by look up table.I want program,by help of which image can be capture through web camera and copmare it with database images,sound file related with that sign play on speaker.Time interval between two images should be 1.5 second.
